As a Humankind Entrepreneur, it’s highly likely you subscribe to a similar ethos to us. An ethos that believes in human kindness and rejects unethical exploitative behaviour.

You prefer a more balanced approach to business… one that’s both ethical and legitimate. As an ethical leader, you understand the importance of developing your staff by nurturing their innate talent and valuing their individuality.

You subscribe to the view that any business, and indeed all businesses, exist purely because the society in which we operate allows us to exist. In other words, by being in business you willingly acknowledge there is an implicit social contract and therefore accept every business has a social responsibility to preserve the ecosystem it relies upon.

For you, that ecosystem extends beyond what we commonly perceive to be human interests alone… encompassing environmental elements as well, being water, air, earth, plants (flora) and wildlife (fauna). Whilst in principle this all sounds wonderful, we recognise you may also think this is somewhat idealistic and perhaps even unattainable! Especially for profit-making enterprises!

This is why we set up the Humankind Entrepreneurs Club to show you that this ideology is in fact easier to achieve than you might think. As you may know already, there is an ecosystem that supports businesses who want to do the right thing in a balanced way. Nevertheless, it probably goes without saying, this will improve further as more of us get involved. To give you an idea of how easy our ethos is to achieve, here’s what Bradley Brown Consulting is doing.

In less than a year, we’ve been able to evolve our business practises to fit more closely with our ethos, thanks to a rapidly evolving ecosystem of innovative and more environmentally friendly businesses... just like yours! To help keep our carbon footprint down, we work from home as much as possible. We’ve switched to energy suppliers who produce the greatest amounts of green energy. We’ve also transformed our business model enabling us to reach many more entrepreneurs than ever before. All of our activities have been very beneficial for both the ecosystems we rely on and our business.

You don’t have to be a community interest company, a charity, or a social enterprise to be socially responsible. Equally, like us, you don’t have to be an environmental activist or belong to any extremist groups either! In fact, we positively encourage a balanced approach to business! 

Reassuringly, it is entirely possible to own and run a profit-making business and do the right thing. The more of us who do this, the more chance we have of preserving our planet. The more of us who do this, the greater chance we have of achieving a more equitable society.
